Checkers for Android 3.2.7

The Android Checkers app (draughts) offers users an 8x8 checkers engine combined with a user-friendly GUI. This application allows players to make moves via the touch screen or trackball. Additionally, a helpful "move coach" feature displays valid user moves and highlights the most recent move made. Users can navigate through full game histories to correct mistakes or analyze previous matches.

The app provides the ability to import and export games in FEN/PDN format, either through the clipboard, sharing functionality, or using the position editor. The checkers engine offers various difficulty levels, including random and free-play modes.

Responding to user feedback, a new feature allows players to choose between mandatory captures (following official rules) or optional captures (a popular home rule, without the "huffing" penalty where failing to capture results in forfeiture of the capturing piece). The game can be played from either side, with the flexibility to view the board from the perspective of either black or white.

For enhanced gameplay options, the application can interface with an external electronic checkers board called Certabo.
